The Helvellyn range, the Langdale Pikes and the Fairfield Horseshoe, are all within walking distance of Bridge House Hotel. Also, there are numerous low-level walks for those feeling less energetic, such as up to Alcock Tarn, or around Grasmere Lake, or along Loughrigg Terrace, or beside Rydal Water.
