|From or near the summit of High Stile you
can see the Scafells to the South, with Great Gable to the left of them
and Pillar to towards the right. In the far distance you can see
Morcambe Bay reaching the sea.
If you look North
you can see Crummock Water stretching out towards the Solway Firth and
distant views of Scotland beyond.
Other mountains visible during the ascent and from the
summit include the Helvellyn range & Fairfield, Fleetwith Pike, Robinson
& Grassmoor, and Skiddaw & Blencathra.
On a fine day it is a breathtaking panorama that stays
with you as you walk along the ridge, and down below all of this are
regular sightings of Ennerdale, Crummock Water and Buttermere - all in all, well
worth that steep ascent up Scarth Gap & Gamlin End to High Crag!
