Lake District Hotel in Grasmere - Bridge House Hotel - Shows and Events

In and around the Lake District and Cumbria, especially in the summer months, there are many annual events which can be a full family day out, packed with interest and enjoyment. Sometimes the phrase "a fun day out for all the family" is overplayed, but not in this case - if you like country pursuits, livestock and rural traditions, then these shows are just right, and even if you don't, there's always the beer tent or the ice-cream stall!

There are often numerous retail stalls to browse, often with an emphasis on locally produced items, sometimes just outdoor clothing. There will usually be somewhere to buy some lunch too!
